Standing in long immigration queues after a long international flight is one of the biggest frustrations for travelers. Now, that wait is about to end. The government’s Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP), which allows passengers to complete immigration in under 30 seconds, has been rolled out to 13 major airports across India.
On September 11, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the expansion of the service to five additional airports—Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Kozhikode, and Amritsar—offering faster immigration clearance to thousands of passengers at these busy hubs.

What Is the Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP)?The FTI-TTP is India’s answer to global traveler-friendly systems like the US Global Entry and UK’s Registered Traveller Service. It provides Indian nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders with a faster, automated, and more secure immigration process.
Instead of standing in long lines, registered passengers can head straight to dedicated e-gates where immigration clearance is done automatically using biometric verification and passport scanning.
The system was first launched at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (T3) in June 2024, followed by seven metro airports in January 2025. Now, with five more airports added, the network covers regions with heavy outbound and inbound international travel, including pilgrimage centers, tourist hotspots, and Tier-2 cities.
Why FTI-TTP Matters for TravellersSo far, over 3 lakh people have registered, with 2.65 lakh successfully using the facility at immigration counters across India.
