Bangkok is commonly considered to be a vibrant capital city with temples, street food and a busy nightlife. You can find beaches, history, natural escapes, or a combination of all these in these five attractions close to Bangkok that will make great memories.

Pattaya
Pattaya is also one of the most popular beach resorts in Thailand. The city is a notoriously golden shores and high-energy nightlife destination, but there is more to it. Theme parks, cultural performances, and the Sanctuary of Truth, a giant wooden sea temple, are some of the places that can be visited by the family.

Chonburi
The Nong Nooch tropical garden includes themed landscapes and cultural performances and is a highlight. Another local favourite is Bang Saen Beach, which can offer locals a more relaxed seaside setting than Pattaya. Khao Sam Muk is another hill found in Chonburi, where people can see the sea and experience an opportunity to see wild monkeys.

Kanchanaburi
It is approximately three hours out of Bangkok and is best known by the Bridge over the River Kwai, which is a portion of the Death Railway of World War II. JEATH War Museum and the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery commemorate those who died.

Rayong
Rayong is a quieter, seafood, relaxed destination that would be ideal when one wants to escape the bustling tourist destination. There is also production of tropical fruits in the province in large quantities, especially durian and mangosteen, thus the local fruit orchard is another attraction for visitors.

Khao Yai
One of the most valued natural places in Thailand is the Khao Yai National Park, which is about three hours away from Bangkok. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site that hosts elephants, hornbills, waterfalls and tropical jungles.
