




"The state Cabinet chaired by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan decided to seek a loan equal to 70 percent of Rs 3,400 crore required for repair and renewal of major district roads," MP's Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya informed after the Cabinet meeting here this afternoon.
"An amount of Rs 25,000 as financial assistance for the marriage of their daughters would be given to the farmers who suffered fifty percent crop loss. The government would also facilitate the farmers to get loans next year," Chouhan said while meeting the hailstorm affected farmers at Bamore village in the state's Morena district yesterday.
The chief minister in a meeting with Israel Ambassador Daniel Carmon here yesterday discussed the prospects of Isreal and Madhya Pradesh working together in areas like agriculture, irrigation, water management and floriculture, an official of state Public Relation Department said today.
"The committee approved the six projects which would bring capital investment worth Rs 3,285 crore in the state," a Public Relations department officer said today.
With an aim to strengthen road network in the state, Madhya Pradesh government has decided to send a proposal to the Centre to convert seven new over 2,000 kilometres roads into national highways.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is currently on a five-day visit to the US, addressed business leaders, executives and analysts here yesterday, touting his state as an "ideal investment destination" that has a conducive business environment, investor-friendly policies and no red-tapism.
"Madhya Pradesh is the heartland of India and is an ideal destination for investment. It is conducive to business and we have put in place investor friendly policies for various sectors to ensure ease of doing business for the foreign investor," Chouhan told PTI here.
The bill was tabled by Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Rampal Singh for ratification by the House following which Congress' acting Leader of Opposition raised the demand for discussion on alleged Simhastha scam and the grim flood situation in the state.
The state is providing 24-hour uninterrupted power to non-agriculture sector and is making efforts for supplying 10-hour dedicated electricity for agriculture purpose.
"Dialogue with China should continue. Both countries have their own national interest," Shivraj Singh Chouhan told reporters here after returning from his six-day visit to China.
