The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government in Maharashtra collapsed in June 2022 with the rebellion of Sena leader Eknath Shinde, who then formed the new government with BJP's Fadnavis as deputy chief minister.

The Mumbai Police arrested designer Aniksha Jaisinghani after the wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Amruta Fadnavis, filed an FIR against her alleging that she had threatened her and attempted to bribe her.

Maharashtra is expected to clock a GDP growth rate of 6.8 percent in the current fiscal, its Economic Survey, which was tabled on Wednesday, stated.

The projected growth showed a decline compared to the 9.1 percent growth in 2021-22.Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who also holds the finance portfolio tabled the survey report for 2022-23 in the Assembly on Wednesday, a day ahead of the state Budget.

Devendra Fadnavis said the untimely showers affected crops like mango, wheat and 'harbhara' (Bengal gram).

Devendra Fadnavis, who has served as the Chief Minister for a full term and came back as the Deputy Chief Minister last year, said the state is redoubling its focus on the infrastructure front.

“It was quite unaffordable to stay in Mumbai for businesses and that's why they went to Bengaluru and Hyderabad,” said Fadnavis

Speaking at an event in Pune on Saturday, the deputy CM appealed to leaders not to bring politics into the industrial sector and warned of strict action against those minting money in the garb of backing labour issues.

Fadnavis also said that the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government has cleared investment proposals worth Rs 90,000 crore in the last six months.

Dharavi, located in the central part of the country's financial capital and among the biggest slum clusters in the world, is a hub for several small-scale, unorganised industries that manufacture medicines, leather, footwear, clothes etc.

The banner, which had the name `Nathuram Hindu Mahasabha’ along with pictures of Godse as well as V D Savarkar and a `registration number’ was later removed by police.

The NCP leader demanded that the chief minister condemn this in strong words.
