YouTube Premium

YouTube has just announced a new YouTube Premium Lite plan that costs Rs 89. While, the plan comes with more or less simiilar set of features as the regular plan, it does miss out on somethings. However, that’s no the point here. The regular plan costs Rs 149 and if you do not want to pay that every month, then there’s web browser that literally offers the two most important features — ad-free viewing and background playback — for free.

What browser?

Samsung Internet. Yes, you heard it right. Samsung Internet offers users the option to enable a couple of options within the browser and get the two mentioned premium features for free.

Also, it is Samsung Internet, but available for all the Android phones and even tablets. So, you can download it from PlayStore as well.

Coming to the point. How to get YouTube Premium for free?

Enable background playback
Open the browser and then head to settings
Tap Useful features —> Background playback and enable the toggle
That’s it You can now play the YouTube videos in the background, from the lock screen as well.

Ad-free viewing

Download the ad-blocker ad-on from within the Samsung Internet browser
Enable it and that’s it.
Head to YouTube website and start enjoying the videos without any ads.

Is there any catch here?

Well, yes, there’s one feature that may not work with this trick. That’s downloading the videos for offline viewing. Also, if you are an iPhone user, the browser is not available for you.
