If your phone keeps buzzing with spam calls offering fake loans or “exclusive” deals you never asked for, Apple finally has a solution worth cheering for. With the new iOS 26 update, iPhone users can now enjoy a feature called Call Screening and it’s exactly what anyone tired of unknown callers has been waiting for.

At first glance, Call Screening might sound like just another spam detection tool. But it’s a lot smarter than that. Instead of letting your phone ring endlessly, the feature answers the call on your behalf and gathers information from the caller. You’ll see what the person wants in real time, so you can decide whether to pick up or let it go to voicemail. No more awkward pauses or scam calls pretending to be from your bank.

The feature works hand-in-hand with Live Voicemail, which transcribes messages as they’re being left. This means you can actually see what someone is saying without having to listen to the voicemail later. For anyone who hates interruptions, this feels like freedom.

Apple has also made the entire Phone app cleaner and more functional. The new layout brings together your Favourites, Recents, and Voicemails in one unified view, so you don’t have to jump between tabs. And for those moments when you’re stuck on hold for what feels like forever, another new addition called Hold Assist comes to the rescue—it alerts you the moment a real human answers the line.

Activating Call Screening is easy. Once your iPhone is updated to iOS 26, just open Settings → Phone → Call Screening and turn it on. You can also adjust preferences for which calls get screened and how notifications appear.

In a world where unknown numbers usually mean wasted time or potential scams, Apple’s Call Screening feels like a small but significant gift. It filters the noise, respects your time, and gives you control over who gets to reach you. For iPhone users, that’s not just convenience it’s peace of mind.
