Xiaomi has officially announced the launch date of its next flagship series, the Xiaomi 15T lineup. This comes after the series has been surfacing online for a while, with various leaks hinting at the specifications and features of these smartphones. The lineup is expected to include two models, Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro, and will succeed the Xiaomi 14T series, which debuted in September 2024.
Xiaomi 15T series: Launch date, expected specifications
In a post on X (previously known as Twitter) this week, Xiaomi announced that the Xiaomi 15T series will be unveiled globally on September 25. However, the company has yet to reveal whether the handsets in the lineup will go on sale in India. Along with the announcement, the Chinese brand has also teased the rear camera design of the series, which confirms that the handsets will have Leica-tuned cameras, like the company’s numbers series.
Under the hood, the base Xiaomi 15T is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 SoC, while the Xiaomi 15T Pro could ship with the more powerful Dimensity 9400+ chipset. Further, the Xiaomi 15T Pro and Xiaomi 15T could feature a triple rear camera unit, headlined by a 50MP OmniVision OVX9100 sensor, a 13MP ultrawide-angle lens, and a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
In terms of battery capacity, the Xiaomi 15T Pro could house a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 90W charging. In contrast, the standard Xiaomi 15T might support 67W fast charging. More details about these handsets are expected to surface as we get closer to the launch.
