Popular messaging platform WhatsApp has been introducing a host of features for user personalization in the last few months. Now, Meta has introduced a new functionality that lets users make default theme picks for chats and chat bubbles from a multitude of design styles. It will provide users with multiple design options via a new user interface (UI) and expand the current customization choices on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp new chat theme feature: Key detailsAccording to a new report by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp v2.24.20.12 beta for Android has included multiple themes that align with the user’s preferences. It allows a selection of dark themes as well and the ability to adjust brightness levels for a more comfortable viewing experience in low-light settings.
There will be a couple of presets to choose from, and we could activate only a few from the WhatsApp interface. You will be able to choose from a broader range of preset wallpapers, and the chat bubble will be accented to match the theme that is selected. Users can also set the darkness levels between dark and light modes.
This design ensures that the wallpaper complements the bubble colours, creating a cohesive and unified appearance. Additionally, WhatsApp users have the option to change the wallpaper separately while retaining the new bubble colour. Users can also apply a custom wallpaper to match the selected theme.
There’s no word on when WhatsApp may roll out this feature as a stable release. However, it is clear that there’s a substantial amount of work going into the development, and a release could happen in the coming weeks.
