WhatsApp has introduced chat themes, a new feature that allows users to personalise their messaging experience with colourful chat bubbles and custom wallpapers. Using the new features, users can customise their chats and have more control over how their chats look.
With chat themes, users can change the colors of their chat bubbles and backgrounds. WhatsApp offers a range of pre-set themes that automatically adjust both the background and bubbles. However, users who prefer a more customised look can mix and match colors to create a theme that best suits their preferences.
Alongside chat themes, WhatsApp is also launching 30 new wallpaper options. Users can choose from these built-in designs or upload a background from their camera roll, ensuring their chats look and feel unique
WhatsApp said that users can apply a single theme to all their chats or set different themes for individual conversations. However, these themes remain private and are visible only to the user, meaning the other person in the chat won’t see the changes. The update also allows customisation of WhatsApp Channels, letting users set themes for their groups and broadcasts.
To customise chat themes, users can go to Settings > Chats > Default chat theme to apply a theme across all chats. For individual chats, iOS users can tap the chat name at the top of the screen, while Android users can access the Chat theme option through the three-dot menu.
