  • Users can include media and set automatic backup frequency

After months of waiting, the Chat Backup feature has finally arrived in the Indian messaging app -- Arattai. The feature is available across both Android and iOS platforms and the update allows users to back up chats and media to the cloud and restore them when needed, bringing the service closer to rivals like WhatsApp.

Arattai chat backup feature details

Arattai users can now store chat data on cloud services. On Android, backups are saved to Google Drive, while iPhone users can use iCloud. The company says backups can be encrypted, ensuring chats remain protected even when stored online.

The feature also supports restoring chats when users switch devices or reinstall the app. Users can choose whether to include media such as photos, videos, and documents, which directly impacts backup size.

How to enable chat backup

To use the feature, users must update the Arattai app to the latest version. Then follow these steps:

- Open the Arattai app

- Go to Settings → Chats

- Tap Chat backup

- Select your cloud account (Google Drive or iCloud)

- Tap Enable backup or Back up now

- Choose automatic backup frequency (daily, weekly, monthly)

Users can also enable encrypted backup and generate a recovery key for added security.

How to restore chats

To restore chats on a new device or after reinstalling:

- Install and open Arattai

- Log in using your registered account

- Tap Restore backup when prompted

- Select the backup from Google Drive or iCloud
