Over the past few weeks, WhatsApp has been receiving several beta updates with new features and improvements. Now, in the latest beta update for the WhatsApp Android app, the messaging platform has received a new audio call bar feature.
With version 2.24.7.19, WhatsApp now has a redesigned calling screen with clearer buttons and a minimised option. It also allows you to add a call bar at the top of the screen, allowing users to manage audio calls without staying on the call screen. You can also end or mute the calls directly from the bar section.
The audio call bar feature has been discovered by WABetaInfo and they state that currently, the feature is available to limited beta testers only. We can also see a screenshot in the same report which shows the end and mute call options.
Previously, WhatsApp allowed to return to the call options by tapping the green status bar. However, the audio call bar feature will allow you to reject or mute calls directly from the top section, without going to the main call screen.
As mentioned earlier, the rollout of the new audio call bar feature is gradual, with more beta testers expected to receive access in the coming days. The stable release of it is expected to be done in the coming months. WhatsApp aims to make audio call management more convenient and user-friendly with this feature.
