These brands sell the most number of smartphones in India
India’s smartphone market grew 7% YoY in Q2 2025, hitting 39 million shipments, says Canalys (Omdia). Wondering which brands sell most phones in India? Here are some of the top ones:
Vivo leads with 21% market share Vivo shipped 8.1 million units, topping the charts. Its V50 series drove sales in big cities, while the Y-series performed in smaller towns. Strong retail partnerships and campaign pushes helped vivo outpace rivals in Q2.

Samsung rides EMI offers to second place Samsung secured 6.2 million shipments and 16% share. The A36 and A56 models gained ground via aggressive 18–24 month EMI schemes. Its focus on mid-premium buyers and financing made a visible impact across urban markets.

Oppo edges past Xiaomi with offline push Oppo matched Xiaomi with 5 million shipments but claimed third place. Strong offline sales of the A5 and growing online interest in the K13 gave it a slight edge. Channel strategy and portfolio variety paid off.

Xiaomi holds steady but slips YoY Xiaomi saw a yearly decline but kept pace in Q2 with 5 million units. It banked on the Redmi 14C 5G and A5 for volume, while refreshed Note 14 models helped maintain visibility in the design-conscious segment.
Apple grows on iPhone 16, stumbles with 16e Apple ranked sixth, with iPhone 16 series driving over 55% of shipments. But the 16e underperformed, criticised for its single camera and underwhelming AI features. Premium buyers are clearly favouring feature-rich models over branding alone.
