Sony has introduced the Xperia 1 VII in European markets. It comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a triple rear camera array enhanced by Sony Alpha technology. The newly launched smartphone is the successor to last year’s Xperia 1 VI, and comes with several upgrades over its predecessor in terms of hardware features.
Sony Xperia 1 VII: Price
The Sony Xperia 1 VII is priced at GBP 1,499 (around Rs 1,56,700) for the sole 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. It is offered in Moss Green, Orchid Purple, and Slate Black colour options. It is now available to pre-order, and will be available in the UK and more European countries starting from June 4, 2025.

The Sony Xperia 1 VII comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LTPO OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The display has Sony's Bravia tuning for enhanced clarity and has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Under the hood, it's powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, which is expandable via microSD card of up to 2TB.
In terms of optics, the Sony Xperia 1 VII features a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 48MP primary 1/1.3-inch Sony Exmor T sensor with a 24mm focal length. Further, the camera setup includes a 12MP 1.3.5-inch Sony Exmor RS telephoto sensor with 3.5 to 7.1x equivalent optical zoom, 21.3X hybrid zoom, and a 48MP Sony Exmor RS 1/1.56-inch ultrawide sensor with 16mm focal length. This new ultrawide camera is a notable upgrade from the 12MP ultrawide sensor on the Sony Xperia 1 VI.
Moreover, the device packs a 5000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. On the software, it runs on Android 15 OS, and Sony promises four major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and Wi-Fi 6. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
