Some Samsung and Google Pixel users have been running into a frustrating problem with Spotify lately. Over the past couple of weeks, reports have poured in about the app crashing or freezing randomly, making it nearly impossible to listen to music.

According to a report by Android Police, the problem seems to happen mostly when the phone is connected to Wi-Fi. Strangely, Spotify works fine on mobile data, but switching to a different Wi-Fi network doesn’t help. While not every Android user is affected, the number of complaints shows that it’s a fairly widespread issue.

Spotify has acknowledged the problem and said its team is investigating, but there’s no timeline yet for a fix. In the meantime, users are trying workarounds. Some have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, while others are sticking to mobile data if their plan allows.

Another possible cause could be Wi-Fi-connected speakers. Some users have found that disconnecting these speakers and reconnecting their phone to Wi-Fi helps, though it doesn’t always solve the problem. For those who don’t want to give up on Spotify, downgrading to an older version of the app is another option.

This isn’t the first time Android users have faced such glitches. Back in July 2024, some Pixel owners reported crashes right after playing a song. Now, Samsung and Pixel users are again left hoping for a quick solution.

Until Spotify releases a fix, users may have to rely on mobile data, try older app versions, or temporarily switch to other music apps. While inconvenient, these options at least let people keep listening to music, podcasts, and playlists.

For millions of daily Spotify users, the crashes are a reminder that even popular apps can hit unexpected bugs that disrupt our daily routines.
