In the beginning, there was Slender: The Eight Pages (or Slender), the single-player atmospheric survival horror game of the 2010s that introduced the anxiety and terror of being chased by an evil entity known as the Slender Man while you took on the challenge of collecting the eight pages. The popularity of the horror title led to the launch of Slender: The Arrival in 2013, a re-imagining of Slender with a more detailed world-building. Now, Slender: The Arrival VR will bring the panic and tension-filled environment of the Slender Man’s haunts to your VR headset. Developed by Blue Isle Studios and published by Perp Games, Slender: The Arrival VR will launch on PSVR2, Meta Quest and PC on May 13, 2025. The VR horror game's trailer was revealed during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase.
Slender: The Arrival VR comes with all the new features included in the 10th Anniversary update of Slender: The Arrival like a new story related to Charlie Matheson’s father, support for more languages, subtitles and enhanced graphics throughout with “every shadow, every material, every model and hair-raising encounter with the mysterious Slender Man re-rendered in stunning detail”.
In Slender: The Arrival VR, the developers have implemented a range of VR accessibility options for players like a “bespoke interactive menu for VR and multiple comfort settings, including standing/seating modes, snap and continuous movement, and sensitivity sliders,” Ian Strachan, Production Director, Perp Games, said in a PlayStation Blog post.
“A key part of the Slender: The Arrival VR experience is the feedback received when The Slender Man is in your area. The detailed haptic feedback in the PSVR2 Sense controllers won’t be the only way you feel Slender Man’s presence, as the PS VR2 headset vibration feedback makes it seem like he dwells within the player’s own mind. Oh, and the vibration function isn’t reserved for Slenderman. There are other enemies to fear in Slender: The Arrival VR”, Strachan added in the PlayStation Blog post.
