Samsung is reintroducing the Galaxy S24 in India, this time equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, after initially launching the device with the Exynos 2400 chip in January 2024. The move aims to refresh the existing model and extend its lifecycle in the Indian market.
Price in India
The new Galaxy S24 Snapdragon will be available at a starting price of Rs. 74,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant, while the 8GB+256GB option is set at Rs. 79,999. The phone will ship with Android 15 out of the box, offering buyers an additional year of software support compared to the Exynos-powered model that debuted with Android 14.
Availability
Samsung has listed the Galaxy S24 Snapdragon on Flipkart, with a dedicated microsite confirming its arrival as “Coming Soon.” While the exact sale date is yet to be announced, this launch follows closely after the debut of the Galaxy S25 FE, which continues to use the Exynos 2400 processor. The Galaxy S24+ model, however, remains unchanged and will still be powered by Exynos in India.
Features and specifications
The re-released Galaxy S24 will retain its design and core specifications, apart from the new chipset. It features a 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Samsung’s Vision Booster technology for improved outdoor visibility. Camera hardware remains the same, offering a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens with optical zoom. Powering the device is a 4000mAh battery, designed to balance performance with portability.
Performance upgrade
The major difference lies in performance. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is expected to deliver faster processing, better graphics handling, and improved AI-driven features compared to the Exynos 2400. This upgrade may appeal to buyers prioritising gaming, multitasking, and sustained performance, areas where Snapdragon traditionally outperforms Exynos.
The relaunch of the Galaxy S24 Snapdragon highlights Samsung’s strategy to cater to consumer demand for Snapdragon-powered flagships in India, a market where chipset performance influences buying decisions. With Android 15 preloaded and longer support, the updated Galaxy S24 aims to attract users seeking flagship performance without waiting for the Galaxy S25 series.
