Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed that it’s working on a tri-foldable smartphone, and while we don’t have any concrete information regarding its launch date and expected specifications, a new leak has now given us some more information about its screen size. The device will inevitably draw a lot of comparisons with the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, which is the first triple foldable smartphone available globally, and this leak also confirms that Samsung’s device may fall short in a few areas compared to Huawei’s smartphone.
Samsung’s triple foldable smartphone: Expected screen size
According to Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the purported triple foldable smartphone from Samsung, which could be named the Galaxy G Fold, will have a screen size of around 9.9 inches when fully unfolded. This means that it would have a smaller main display than Huawei’s Mate XT, which comes with a 10.2-inch inner foldable display.
Further, this device is expected to use a dual inner-folding mechanism, allowing the screen to fold inward on both sides. This could offer better protection for the main display, especially from accidental falls or daily wear and tear, compared to the Mate XT, which has an outward folding design. Earlier reports suggested a Q3 2025 release, but the tipster adds that Samsung could now push for a full release into early 2026.
Even though Samsung has not officially confirmed anything yet, many reports suggest that the company would at least tease the Galaxy G Fold at its upcoming Unpacked event in July, where the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 ZE will be unveiled.
