Samsung's next folding phone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, which would be the company’s first commercial foldable smartphone with three panels, is expected to launch soon. The device is tipped to include a 10-inch main double-folding display and house a 6.5-inch outer screen. Samsung has already teased the phone recently in South Korea, and its US firmware testing is reportedly already in progress.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: Here’s what’s to expectAccording to an Android Headlines report, unlocked firmware testing for the US model of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold has started, identified as SM-F968U1. The initiation of this testing indicates that preparations for a US release are fully underway, with Samsung expected to release this triple foldable handset in both locked and unlocked variants. Moreover, it could also have a limited release in South Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the UAE.
In terms of design and display, the Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to have a fully opened large 10-inch tablet-like screen, with a smaller 6.5-inch cover display, when fully folded. It will likely be powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor backed by a 5,437mAh-rated battery.
The foldable could be one of the slimmest devices currently, as one of the panels is expected to be around 3.9mm thick, while the other two may measure about 4mm and 4.2mm. Further, it may sport a 200MP primary camera and offer up to 2,600 nits bright screens. The Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to be priced a lot higher than the current Z Fold smartphones, and will reportedly be priced around $3000 (around Rs 2.65 lakh) for different variants.
