Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy S26 series is set to be powered by the company’s forthcoming in-house Exynos 2600 chipset in limited regions. The company has apparently made substantial progress with the Exynos 2600 thanks to the use of a 2nm GAA manufacturing process, ARM's latest v9.3 architecture, and the latest C1-Ultra and C1-Pro cores. However, reportedly, the company has even bigger plans with its successor, the Exynos 2700, which could offer major upgrades in performance, efficiency & thermal design.
Samsung Exynos 2700: Expected performance and efficiency improvements
According to recent posts from tipster Kaulenda (@BairroGrande) on X, the Exynos 2700 is now in work with the internal codename ‘Ulysses.’ It is expected to be built on Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 2nm process, known as SF2P, which is the next-gen iteration of the GAA process utilised by the forthcoming Exynos 2600 chip.
With this enhanced manufacturing process, the tipster adds that Samsung is targeting a 12% performance bump and a 25% reduction in power draw compared to the earlier Exynos chipsets. This transition to the SF2P node could also allow the chip’s primary CPU core to reach a maximum clock speed of 4.2 GHz, much higher than the rumoured 3.90 GHz primary clock speed in Exynos 2600. Moreover, the tipster has mentioned that the Exynos 2700 will use Samsung's latest LPDDR6 RAM and the unannounced UFS 5.0 storage.
Samsung is also likely to retain the Exynos 2600's 1+3+6 deca-core configuration for its next-gen Exynos 2700 chipset. Additionally, Samsung is expected to use an AMD architecture-based Xclipse GPU in the chip. This powerful processing speed with fast data transfer speeds of UFS 5.0 and LPDDR6 RAM type will apparently mean that the Exynos 2700 could be about 80%-100% faster than Exynos 2600, with a real performance boost of 30%-40%. However, considering we’re still many months away from its official debut, there could be a change in things.
