Samsung’s next flagship smartphone series, the Galaxy S26 lineup, is likely to be launched early next year, with base, Plus, and Ultra variants. Ahead of its formal reveal, a reputable tipster has shared the expected key specifications of the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ by comparing them with their predecessors. Separately, Samsung has also officially teased the Exynos 2600 chipset, which is likely to power these handsets.
Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+: Expected specifications
Prolific X leaker Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) has compiled a chart detailing how the Samsung Galaxy S26 and its larger variant, the Galaxy S26+, will stack up against the predecessor smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S25 and the Samsung Galaxy S25+. According to the two tables, both models will come with similar rear camera units, RAM, refresh rate support, and peak brightness, like their predecessors.
However, the base Samsung Galaxy S26 is tipped to come with a bigger 6.3-inch display, which is slightly taller compared to the 6.2-inch screen on the Galaxy S25. Moreover, both the Galaxy S26 smartphones are likely to be powered by the Exynos 2600 chipset in major global regions, including India, as the company has confirmed that the processor is nearing launch by releasing a short video.
For comparison, Samsung used the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy chipset in the Galaxy S25 series in all markets. Moreover, both the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are tipped to come with 12GB of RAM, similar to the Galaxy S25 series. Another big change could be in terms of upgraded storage for the Galaxy S26, as it is expected to drop the 128GB storage variant and offer just 256GB as the default, like the recently launched iPhone 17 series.
