Samsung has finally confirmed the launch date of its first slim smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Edge. The handset was initially announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January and later showcased in March at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The device is touted to be the slimmest flagship phone and will join the Galaxy S25 Edge lineup, consisting of Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Launch date, expected features
Through a newsroom post, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will be launched globally on May 13 on May 13 at 9 AM KST (5:30 AM IST). A product page for this smartphone has also gone live on Amazon India. Moreover, the South Korean tech giant has also claimed that it will be the slimmest Galaxy S series handset to date, and will be embedded with Galaxy AI features.
In collaboration with Corning, Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will incorporate the new Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection on the front. Further, the device is confirmed to come with a 200MP main sensor, which is expected to be a part of a dual-rear camera system alongside a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
Similar to the current Galaxy S25 handsets, the Galaxy S25 Edge is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset coupled with 12GB of RAM, and run Android 15-based One UI 7. It will likely sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and have a 5.85mm thickness with a total weight of 163 grams. This slim design could be possible with the inclusion of a 3,900 mAh battery.
