RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition is coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The classic theme park simulator will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One on March 20, publisher Atari announced. You can preorder the construction and building simulator on the PS Store and Xbox Store.

The theme park simulation game is more than two decades old. Atari acquired the publishing rights to RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 in February last year. Before that, the New York-based video game company had secured the publishing rights to major RollerCoaster Tycoon titles like RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe, RollerCoaster Tycoon Joyride, RollerCoaster Tycoon World, RollerCoaster Tycoon Puzzle and RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch under a long-term licensing agreement with Chris Sawyer, creator of the franchise.

Developed by Frontier Developments, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 came out way back in 2004, and is currently available on PC (Steam), Mac, Nintendo Switch and iOS platforms. The game was a hit upon release; it was the “best-selling PC game on Amazon.com in its launch window and a top-five selling PC title in 2004 and 2005”, Atari noted in a website post.

The RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition contains everything included in both Soaked! and Wild! expansions. The complete edition of the theme park simulator will have the signature CoasterCam and the MixMaster feature. Although RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is an old game now, it has been optimised for the modern consoles and we can only expect it to stir fond memories of gaming for those who grew up in the ‘90s and ‘00s.
