RedNote, a Chinese app has suddenly started gaining popularity in the United States as the country plans to ban TikTok on January 19. The entire move even sparked humour, and Chinese netizens humorously welcomed TikTok ‘refugees’ on the platform.

Things to keep in mindWhile everything looks just fine as the app is natively available on both platforms, there are certain things that you need to keep in mind.
Language can be a barrier. The app supports English, however, most content and some in-app content, including UI elements are in Chinese.
Permissions are fine, but the app needs access to the phone and calls, although it is optional.
