Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is set to unveil the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G in India later this week as the latest addition to the company's Note lineup. The company has confirmed the launch date of the phone, while also revealing its design and key specifications. This upcoming handset is confirmed to come with a larger battery than its predecessor, while housing the same chipset as the standard Redmi Note 15 5G model.
Redmi Note 15 SE 5G: Launch date, expected specifications
Redmi India, through its X account and a dedicated microsite on Flipkart, has confirmed that the Redmi Note 15 SE will launch on April 2 in India, joining the rest of the Note 15 series smartphones. It is teased to be a slim device with 7.35 mm thickness, and will feature a leather-like textured back panel. The Redmi Note 15 SE 5G will be available in Carbon Black, Crimson Reserve (Red), and Frosted White shades.
Further, the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G is confirmed to house a 5,800 mAh battery, which will support 45W fast charging. The handset will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, which also powers the standard Redmi Note 15 5G model. The company promises ‘48-month lag-free performance’ for the phone, with a 10% ‘GPU boost and 30% ‘CPU boost.’
The Redmi Note 15 SE is expected to come with a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness. The handset will feature a dual rear camera setup housed inside a squircle-shaped camera module. It will come with a 50MP MasterPixel primary sensor, which would be able to do 4K video recording. Other details about the handset, including its pricing, will be revealed on the launch date.
