Xiaomi has just launched the Redmi Note 14S, and it's now available in Central and Eastern Europe.Well, here’s the catch—it’s not exactly a brand-new phone. In reality, the 14S is just the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G with a slightly tweaked design, specifically a redesigned camera island.
If that sounds familiar, it's because the specs sheet is pretty much identical to what we saw over a year ago. The phone comes with a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a high-resolution 200MP main camera on the back.
One thing that raises eyebrows is the software situation. When the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G was released in early 2024, it came with the already outdated Android 13. Now, with the 14S, Xiaomi isn’t even mentioning the OS version. That has led many to suspect that the phone is still running on the same two-year-old Android version, even though it’s technically branded as HyperOS.
Xiaomi is offering the Redmi Note 14S in three colors—Blue, Purple, and Black. Pricing varies by region, with the phone selling for UAH 10,999 in Ukraine and CZK 5,999 in Czechia. That converts to around $260 or €240 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
So, while Xiaomi is calling this a new launch, it’s more of a rebranded device than an actual upgrade. If you already own the Note 13 Pro 4G, this one doesn’t bring much to the table.
