Redmi 15 5G to launch soon: Here’s everything we know so far about the phone

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi 15 5G will launch in India on August 19. A dedicated microsite is already live on Amazon, confirming that the handset will be available for purchase via the e-commerce platform following its debut. The phone will be offered in three colour options — Frosted White, Midnight Black, and Sandy Purple.

The Redmi 15 5G will feature what the company calls a “Royale Chrome Design” with an aerospace-grade metal camera island. It will sport a large 6.9-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone is also expected to carry an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Powering the Redmi 15 5G will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. The phone will run on HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15. It will also support AI features including Google Gemini and Circle to Search, bringing some of Google’s latest tools to the budget segment.

The Redmi 15 5G will be equipped with a 7,000mAh silicone-carbon battery. The company claims the phone can deliver up to 13.5 hours of usage even with just one percent of charge in Hibernation Mode. The handset will support 18W reverse charging and is expected to come with 33W wired fast charging support, according to recent leaks.

In terms of optics, the phone will get a 50-megapixel AI-assisted dual rear camera setup. The secondary camera is tipped to be a 2-megapixel sensor. On the front, the phone may feature an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The India variant is expected to launch with a configuration offering 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

While pricing and other specifications are yet to be officially announced, the Redmi 15 5G is shaping up to be a notable addition to the brand’s 5G lineup, especially with its large battery and AI features. More details are likely to be revealed closer to the August 19 launch date.
