Poco to introduce a new smartphone
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco is preparing to launch a new smartphone in India, as the company has started teasing the phone on its official website and Flipkart. While the name hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, a report suggests it could be called the Poco M7 Plus.

Expected launch date, price
According to a report from 91Mobiles Hindi, the handset is expected to debut on August 13. Citing internal sources, the report also adds that it could be priced under Rs 15,000 in India. For context, its predecessor was launched at a Starting price of Rs 13,499, and came with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.

The Poco M7 Plus will be the successor to the Poco M6 Plus, and the phone’s teaser confirms that it will come with a dual rear camera setup. With the M7 Plus, Poco also seems to be offering a larger battery, better display, and a similar slim design, like this year’s Poco X7 Pro or Poco F7.

The 91Mobiles Hindi report states that the Poco M7 Plus will feature a 6.9-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. In terms of optics, it will likely get a 50MP primary rear camera sensor, and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. One of the biggest highlights of the smartphone could be its 7,000 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
