Paytm has introduced a new AI-powered travel platform called Paytm Checkin, designed to make trip planning and bookings more efficient. The app uses artificial intelligence to simplify how users plan, book, and manage their travel across different modes of transport including flights, trains, buses, and metro rides.

AI integration and features
The core of Paytm Checkin is its conversational AI assistant that allows users to search, compare, and book travel options through natural language prompts. The assistant can also recommend destinations, suggest itineraries, and tailor results based on the user’s previous travel history and preferences.
Currently in its beta phase, the app aims to bring a personalized travel experience by learning from user interactions over time. According to the company, the AI system can adapt to changing travel trends and individual preferences, offering smarter recommendations as it gathers more data.
Paytm is also extending its AI capabilities to other parts of its ecosystem, including merchant-facing products. The company is equipping devices such as its Paytm Soundbox with AI-driven voice assistants that can offer analytics, transaction insights, and real-time support for businesses.

Company strategy
Paytm’s expansion into AI-driven services aligns with its broader goal of integrating intelligent systems across its business verticals. Founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma recently stated that AI will play a significant role in driving both operational efficiency and new revenue streams. While many of these tools are currently being used to enhance user experience, Paytm indicated that future monetization may involve subscription-based models for premium AI services.

With Paytm Checkin, the company is positioning itself to compete more directly with established travel platforms while leveraging its payment infrastructure and user base. The launch highlights Paytm’s ongoing shift toward AI-led innovation to strengthen its consumer and merchant ecosystems.
