A thin foldable phone is almost hard to imagine. The last phone to get closer to the idea of thin foldable phone was Honor Magic V3 but now we hear that OnePlus Open 2, which is likely a rebranded version of the Oppo Find N5, will be the thinnest foldable device in the world.
Recently, Oppo’s product manager of Find N series, Zhou Bao, posted a picture of the Oppo Find N5 on Weibo, which shows that the phone is mildly thicker than the USB Type-C port. Several reports have suggested that the Find N5 will be slimmer than the Honor Magic V3, which means that the Oppo Find N5 will measure less than 4.4 mm on each side. Another image shows that the phone is slimmer than two coins stacked one on top of the other and a stack of debit cards. Now, this is an incredible feat to achieve especially for a foldable phone
The Oppo Find N5 is expected to launch as early as February in China. However, outside China, the phone is expected to launch as the OnePlus Open 2. It is likely to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress to be held at Barcelona in the first week of March.
As far as the specs and design are concerned, the Oppo Find N5 aka OnePlus Open 2 will feature the same design as its predecessor. It will feature Hasselblad cameras and use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset to drive the show.
