OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 13s soon. While the company has yet to announce the official launch date of the smartphone, it has teased multiple hardware features of the OnePlus 13s in the last couple of weeks. The company has now confirmed that the smartphone will be the first in India to debut without its familiar three-position alert slider, and instead will feature a new customisable button, called the ‘Plus Key.’

OnePlus 13s to have a customisable ‘Plus Key’: Key details

The upcoming OnePlus 13s will come with a customizable ‘Plus Key,’ the company confirmed via an X post. The accompanying video teaser suggests that this button will be customisable and will likely offer the same functionality as the company's alert slider, and even support multiple other functions like the iPhone’s Action Button.

Moreover, the ‘Plus Key’ could be customised as per the user’s preference for performing various actions like changing the audio profile, launching the camera app, enabling flash, starting voice recording, and more. Therefore, its functionalities appear similar to the customisable shortcut key on the OnePlus 13T, which was recently launched in China.

Earlier this year, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed plans to replace the alert slider with a more versatile and user-programmable button for future smartphones from the company. Talking about its other specifications, the OnePlus 13s is confirmed to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will come with a compact design with a 6.32-inch display.
