Popular video games and hardware manufacturer Nintendo is expected to release its next-gen console, the Switch 2, this quarter. Over the past few months, it has been the subject of rumors and speculations, but an end seems to be in sight. Now, images of what appears to be a revamped Joy-Con for the Nintendo Switch 2 have leaked online. These images reveal a new controller design that looks remarkably similar to those found on the current Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo’s new Joy-Con controllers: Key details
A poster on Reddit has shared images of the new Joy-Cons for the Nintendo Switch 2, where we can see the inner side and back of the device, which is mostly black with a hint of blue on the inner side. Moreover, these new Joy-Con controllers should magnetically attach to the Switch 2 with a removable design for enhanced dock setup gameplay experience.
Nintendo could be opting to go for a more mature, muted tone for these Joy-Cons this time around as it follows a single-color theme from the outside. Notably, the new larger SL and SR buttons and the trigger next to the ZR trigger buttons are also visible from the leak. Further, the leaker also claims that the announcement of these controllers with the Switch 2 console could happen this week.
So far, Nintendo hasn't announced the official release date for the Switch 2. However, with the amount of leaks coming in the past few weeks, it seems like a reveal isn't that far away.
