Microsoft has announced Copilot Vision, a new way for Windows users to connect with their computers. The tool, designed to be a Gemini Live-rival, lets you use a second set of eyes to navigate, learn and solve tasks directly on your PC. Copilot Vision aims to be a helpful sidekick — a companion that can see what you’re seeing and respond in real time — making computing more interactive and effortless.
What is Copilot Vision?Copilot Vision is a new Windows feature that lets you share your computer’s view with Microsoft’s Copilot. Once you opt in, Copilot can observe your screen and provide context-specific help — whether you need to find a button in a menu, connect the dots between two different applications, or simply ask questions about what you’re seeing. It effectively lets you collaborate with your computer in a way that feels more natural and less restrictive.
Availability and rolloutMicrosoft has made Copilot Vision available now to Windows 10 and Windows 11 users in the USA. The rollout is currently limited to the US, but Microsoft plans to bring it to more non-European markets soon. The service is part of Copilot Labs — a space where Microsoft is trialling and refining its innovations — and it will continue to evolve based on user feedback.
How Copilot Vision worksTo activate Copilot Vision, you need to click the glasses icon in your Copilot composer and select which application you want to share. Once you do, Copilot can view and respond to what’s on your screen in real time. It lets you navigate multiple apps, connect disparate tasks, or ask questions about what you’re seeing — from improving photo lighting to reviewing a travel itinerary. The “Highlights” feature lets you say “show me how” and Copilot will highlight exactly where to click.
This update underscores Microsoft’s ongoing effort to make computing more interactive and personalised. Copilot Vision is designed to be a flexible, opt-in experience — you control when it starts and stops. It is available now in the USA and is slated to expand to additional markets soon. Furthermore, the Copilot app on Windows now supports “Deep Research” and “File Search”— adding powerful functionality to help you navigate files and find information quickly.
With Copilot Vision, Microsoft aims to make computing more collaborative and effortless, offering a digital sidekick that evolves alongside you.
