DeepSeek is a Chinese AI company that’s been getting a lot of attention for its powerful chatbot. What makes DeepSeek special is its team of young, talented people who have been able to create amazing AI technology with a small budget.
The Hangzhou-based company was started by Liang Wenfeng, who studied AI at Zhejiang University. Instead of hiring a lot of experienced people, Liang focused on bringing in fresh graduates or people with a little work experience. Some of the talented people on his team include Gao Huazuo, who studied physics at Peking University, and Zeng Wangding, who’s studying AI at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
These young team members have made important breakthroughs in AI research, especially in improving how the AI works. Other key members include Guo Daya, a new PhD graduate from Sun Yat-sen University, and Zhu Qihao and Dai Damai, both fresh PhD graduates from Peking University, according to a report by South China Morning Post.
One of the most talented people who worked at DeepSeek is Luo Fuli. She is known as an "AI prodigy" in China. After working at DeepSeek, she was offered a very high-paying job by Xiaomi’s founder, Lei Jun.
Even though many of the team members are new to the field, they have proven that fresh ideas and hard work can lead to great success. Thanks to their efforts and Liang’s leadership, DeepSeek is now competing with bigger, more established companies in the AI world.
