Marvel’s Blade: Here’s what the creative director said

First revealed at The Game Awards 2023, Marvel’s Blade is the superhero game developer Arkane Studios hasn’t shared much about over the past two years. The Xbox Games Showcase came and went, and there was no mention of the action-adventure Marvel RPG starring the half-man, half-vampire superhero. Many fans expected an update about Marvel’s Blade at The Game Awards 2025, but that too didn’t happen. This led to an eager fan to vent out on X, asking Blade developer Arkane to drop “even a tiny message” on the development status, if they can’t reveal art or gameplay yet. Thankfully, Dinga Bakaba, co-creative director at Arkane Studios, commented on the post, giving fans an idea about what the team at Arkane was up to with Marvel’s Blade. Here’s what he said:

"The team is hard at work, everyone is super proud and outdoing themselves. Please be patient, it will be a special game and we all hope it will be meeting the high standards that we set for ourselves and for you all."

Marvel’s Blade is currently under development by Arkane Lyon and Marvel Games and will be published by Skyrim-and-Fallout 4-maker Bethesda Softworks. The single-player action-adventure RPG is set “in the heart of Paris” and features Eric Brooks as the legendary Daywalker. It will be playable in the third-person perspective.

France-based Arkane Studios is well-known for developing the Dishonored series and titles like Prey and Deathloop. Although its vampire-themed Redfall wasn’t a success, Arkane is betting big by tying up with Marvel Games for the Blade game. The release date for the game is yet to be announced. Arkane did drop some of the concept art for the game, back in 2023.
