LTIMindtree former COO Nachiket Deshpande has been assigned a new role as the president of the company’s newly formed AI services business group, as a part of CEO designate Venu Lambu’s ongoing senior management changes.
Earlier Deshpande was one of the front runners for the CEO position to succeed incumbent CEO Debashis Chatterjee. Lambu was announced as the CEO designate in January.
In his new role, Deshpande will remain an executive board member and will lead the AI business group focusing on driving complex multi-year client engagements, according to his LinkedIn profile. He will be spearheading global research and technology advancement, M&A strategy and the company’s partnership and ecosystem development. He will be based out of New York.
LTIMindtree’s AI services business group is focused on “new AI economy with comprehensive services portfolio across AI advisory, AI engineering, AI solutions and Outcome based platform operations reimagined with AI. This will be delivered via AI Studio and Agentic AI marketplace.”
Deshpande’s role also involves aligning the Global Technology Office (GTO) research agenda, evaluate emerging technologies, forging strategic partnerships with academic institutions for innovation pipeline and ensuring long-term growth.
The IT services major will be eyeing for critical technologies-based mergers and acquisitions in the AI space to expand customer base.
Prior to LTI and Mindtree’s merger in November 2022, Deshpande was the chief operating officer at LTI since. Before his tenure at LTI, he had spent nearly two decades at Cognizant.
With the aggressive push on AI, Chatterjee had earlier outlined that the company has set an ambitious goal to achieve revenue of $10 billion by 2032, from $4.3 billion currently. Chatterjee's tenure as the CEO is expected to end later in 2025.
