Country’s sixth-largest IT firm LTIMindtree announced former president Venugopal Lambu as the CEO designate and wholetime director based out of London with immediate effect. He is set to succeed CEO and MD Debashis Chatterjee.
Lambu would return to LTIMindtree after a two-year stint as the CEO of Randstad Digital.
Chatterjee's tenure in his current role is expected to end later in 2025. At present, Lambu will be closely working with him from a smooth transition and gathering insights into the current operations, yearly budgets and strategic plans of the company.
Prior to joining Ranstad, Lambu had served as the president for global markets at erstwhile Mindtree. He had led the global markets transformation and capabilities of the company in a three-year long stint.
In his previous role, he was the CEO of Ranstad Digital, the $3 billion digital arm of Randstad, which looks to tap into global capability centres (GCCs) in India to drive revenue through its people-centric approach.
S.N.Subrahmanyan, Chairman LTIMindtree said, “This move reflects our dedication to fostering a seamless transition in leadership, preserving the company's legacy, and positioning us for future opportunities. Venu is a bright leader who has amazing solution providing capabilities and a phenomenal networker.”
“We are confident that Venu’s home coming to L&T will take LTIMindtree into its next chapter of growth and this will further strengthen our position as a leading global IT services provider,” he added.
Lambu comes with over 30 years of experience in the IT industry having worked with Cognizant, HCLTech and IBM previously. He earned his bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mysore and a general management certification from London School of Business.
While Lambu is an external candidate, internally the company had evaluated COO Nachiket Deshpande and former president of markets Sudhir Chaturvedi to succeed as the CEO. Earlier this week, Chaturvedi had resigned from the company.
