Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup, launched in September 2025, is now on sale globally. The series includes four models — the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While these devices are available in India through Apple and authorised resellers, buyers here are paying higher prices compared to many international markets. Import duties, goods and services tax (GST), and distribution costs push Indian retail prices significantly above those in countries such as the United States, United Arab Emirates, and Singapore.
Apple iPhone 17 series prices in India
For context, here are the official starting prices of the 256GB versions in India:
• iPhone 17 – Rs 82,900
• iPhone 17 Air – Rs 1,19,900
• iPhone 17 Pro – Rs 1,34,900
• iPhone 17 Pro Max – Rs 1,49,900
These figures are consistently higher than what consumers in several other regions are paying.
Countries with lower prices
United States: The US remains one of the cheapest markets for iPhones. The iPhone 17 (256GB) costs around $799 (approximately Rs 66,800), while the iPhone 17 Air starts at $999 (around Rs 83,400). Both the Pro and Pro Max models are also priced lower compared to India.
United Arab Emirates (Dubai): Pricing in Dubai is also competitive. The iPhone 17 (256GB) costs AED 3,399 (about Rs 62,900), and the iPhone 17 Air is listed at AED 4,299 (roughly Rs 74,800). Pro models are similarly cheaper than Indian prices.
Singapore: In Singapore, the iPhone 17 (256GB) is available for SGD 1,299 (about Rs 74,100). The iPhone 17 Air is listed at SGD 1,599 (around Rs 91,000). These figures make the country another favourable option for buyers.
Hong Kong: Hong Kong also offers lower pricing, with the iPhone 17 priced at HK$ 6,899 (about Rs 73,800). The iPhone 17 Air is available for HK$ 8,599, which still works out cheaper than Indian pricing after conversion.
Vietnam: Buyers in Vietnam can get the iPhone 17 (256GB) for around VND 24,999,000 (approximately Rs 79,900). The iPhone 17 Air is priced at VND 31,999,000 (around Rs 1,01,500), slightly below the Indian rate.
Other countries, including Canada, the UK, and Australia, show a mixed picture. Some models are cheaper than in India, while others remain more expensive after accounting for local taxes.
