Jolla Phone launched in India: Price, features and more

Jolla has announced the launch of its new Jolla Phone in India, marking the company’s return to smartphones after several years. The device follows the original 2013 model and retains its modular, repair-friendly design with a replaceable back cover and battery. It is positioned as a community-driven Sailfish OS device with a strong focus on privacy, offering hardware-level controls and long-term software support.

The global pre-order target of 2,000 units has already been crossed, confirming production. Jolla says deliveries will begin by the end of H1 2026 for supported regions, with a wider rollout expected later.

Price in India

The Jolla Phone is available through a pre-order structure. Buyers must pay a €99 (around Rs 10,409) deposit to reserve the device. The total pre-order price is €499 (around Rs 52,465). The final retail price is expected to range between €599 and €699 (approximately Rs 62,980 to Rs 73,495).

These prices reflect global pre-order values. Jolla is yet to confirm India-specific pricing or local availability timelines.

Features

The smartphone features a 6.36-inch Full HD AMOLED screen protected by Gorilla Glass. It runs on an unspecified MediaTek 5G chipset paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSDXC.

The phone includes a 50MP primary rear camera and a 13MP ultrawide lens, while the front camera resolution is not listed. Connectivity options include 5G, dual nano-SIM support, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC.

A key highlight is the physical Privacy Switch, which can disable the microphone, camera, Bluetooth or Android components. The device runs Sailfish OS 5 and supports Android apps through Jolla AppSupport.

The 5,500 mAh battery is user-replaceable, and the phone also features an RGB notification LED and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
