Jio has an ‘important’ message for these users: What is it and why you should check it out

Soon after announcing the JioHotstar OTT platform, Reliance Jio started extending an important message to users via WhatsApp. The message includes important information that let people know about their active JioHotstar subscription and how the subscription from JioCinema has been upgraded to the JioHotstar subscription. Users who haven't received the message means that they don't have an active JioCinema subscription.

“Your Plan Is Upgraded to JioHotstar Premium Plan!

The validity of this JioHotstar Premium plan will be till Feb 25, 2025.

Your JioCinema Premium plan expires on Feb 25, 2025, and will not get renewed upon expiry.

Your existing super subscription will continue as usual on JioHotstar.”

The message also includes the plan’s validity as a part of the free upgrade. In this case, the plan is valid till Feb 25, 2025. This message will vary depending upon users’ existing validity of JioCinema.

Autopay disabled

It is also important to note that Jio has already cancelled the autopay for JioCinema users. This means the validity will be valid till the date mentioned in the message. Post that., users will have to subscribe to JioHotstar with the new available plans.

JioHotstar subscription plans

Mobile-only plan: Rs 149 for 3 months, Rs 499 for 1 year.

This plan is designed for single-device users, offering streaming on mobile devices at a maximum resolution of 720p with stereo sound.

Super plan: Rs 299 for 3 months, Rs 899 for 1 year.

Supports streaming on up to two devices, including TVs, laptops, and mobiles. It offers Full HD (1080p) resolution with Dolby Atmos audio for an enhanced viewing experience.

Premium plan (ad-free): Rs 299 per month, Rs 499 for 3 months, Rs 1,499 for 1 year.

Allows streaming on up to four devices, including TVs, laptops, and mobiles. It supports 4K (2160p) resolution, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos audio. This plan is ad-free, except for live content such as sports and events.
