Ahead of its IPO in 2025, Physics Wallah (PW) on November 14 announced the appointment of ex-Blinkit Amit Sachdeva as its Chief Finance Officer. "With a career in finance, prior to Physics Wallah Amit has worked across multiple industries in Consumer Tech, IT/ITeS, and has held leadership roles at organisations such as IGT Solutions, Blinkit, Wipro," said the ed tech unicorn in a statement.

Sachdeva is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Certified Public Accountant in the USA and is an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi. At PW, Amit has accepted the role as Chief Finance Officer and will lead the strategic and financial initiatives and strengthen the company’s vision of making quality education accessible.

Sachdeva said: “Joining Physics Wallah is a great opportunity to support an organisation seeking to make education accessible to so many. I am thankful to Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari for this opportunity and PW’s objective to broaden educational access and be of help to students working towards their goals.”

Alakh Pandey, CEO of Physics Wallah, emphasised on the value of this appointment, stating, “Amit’s experience in financial leadership and his focus on robust corporate governance will be invaluable as we continue our efforts to grow and broaden our educational impact. His approach to finance as a transformative tool aligns with PW’s goals, and we’re happy to welcome him.”
"With Amit Sachdeva’s leadership, Physics Wallah aims to bolster its financial oversight and planning, enable its efforts towards sustainable growth and advance its objective of providing quality education," said the company.

Post a fund raise in September which valued it at $2.8bn , Physics Wallah has shortlisted 4 investment banks as advisors as the top ed-tech unicorn gears up for its listing plans in 2025, four persons in the know told Moneycontrol on the condition of anonymity in October.
The firm's investors include Westbridge Capital, GSV Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Hornbill Capital.

If these plans fructify into an eventual listing, PhysicsWallah could potentially become India's first ed tech firm to debut on the domestic bourses, considering uncertainty around the earlier listing plans of troubled peer Byju's arm Akash Education Services.
