Amid reports of Starlink bringing satellite internet connectivity to iPhones, T-link, one of the leading telecom companies in the US, has announced a major update. The company has announced that the iPhone users will be able to try out the Starlink satellite service for free until July. Notably, T-link has teamed up with SpaceX’s Starlink to bring satellite-powered mobile service to your iPhone.
This new service uses satellites flying 200 miles above Earth to keep your phone connected, even where regular cell towers don’t reach.
Right now, it works for text messaging, but soon you’ll be able to send pictures, browse the web, and make calls—straight from space.
The best part? You don’t need to do anything. When you leave a regular network’s range, your iPhone automatically switches to Starlink. No extra gadgets, no complicated settings—just seamless connectivity wherever you are.
T-Mobile Starlink also supports Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs). Whether you’re on a remote hiking trail or caught in extreme weather, you’ll still get crucial alerts to keep you safe.
How much will it cost?
Right now, it’s free during the beta period. When the service officially launches in July, T-Mobile users with the Go5G Next plan will get it at no extra charge. Other T-Mobile customers can add it for $15 a month, while AT&T and Verizon users can join for $20 a month. Early adopters who sign up now get a $10 monthly discount!
T-Mobile and Starlink aren’t stopping here. They’re inviting wireless providers worldwide to join their mission. Companies in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and beyond are already on board.
