After months and months of speculations, Apple may finally unveil the iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16E–whatever it decides to call it on February 19. Although Tim Cook had only confirmed the date without saying what is going to be launched, all signs point to the launch of the iPhone SE 4. This affordable iPhone SE 4 will not be anything like the previously launched models, it promises to offer huge upgrades. To begin with, buyers can expect a fresh design, better performance and improved cameras.
An all new look
Chunky bezels and home button may not be visible on the iPhone SE 4. The phone is expected to feature an all new design inspired by the iPhone 14.That means flat edges, an aluminium and glass build, and possibly Apple’s tough Ceramic Shield for extra durability.
Another big change? No more Touch ID. Apple is likely switching to Face ID, bringing the SE in line with its premium models. The display is also getting a serious upgrade. The SE 4 is rumoured to feature a 6.1-inch OLED screen—much bigger and better than the 4.7-inch LCD on the SE 3.
Faster, smarter, and better cameras
When it comes to performance, Apple isn’t holding back. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to run on either the A18 chipset from the upcoming iPhone 16 or the A17 Pro from the iPhone 15 Pro. Either way, this means super-fast speed and smooth performance.
And here’s the exciting part—Apple Intelligence might be coming to the SE 4. If that happens, the phone will likely have 8GB RAM to support AI features.
Photography fans are in for a treat too. The iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to have a 48-megapixel rear camera, a huge jump from the 12-megapixel sensor on the SE 3. The front camera is also expected to get an upgrade to 24 megapixels, making selfies sharper and more detailed.
Other expected upgrades include a bigger 3,279mAh battery, a switch to USB Type-C charging, and support for MagSafe wireless charging. Apple might also introduce an Action Button, just like on the iPhone 15 Pro, which will let users customise shortcuts.
How much will the device cost?
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be slightly more expensive than its predecessor but will likely stay under Rs 50,000 in India. A price tag of around Rs 49,900 for the base model seems likely, making it a great option for those who want an affordable iPhone.
