Apple has officially confirmed that its next big launch event will take place on September 9 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino. This is when we’re expected to see the iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While we wait for the official unveiling, some early hints about the design have already started making the rounds.
Prolific tipster Evan Blass recently shared images of the iPhone 17 cases from popular accessory brand Urban Armor Gear (UAG) on X (formerly Twitter). These cases reveal some interesting details about the upcoming phones, especially the camera layout and side controls.
According to the leaked cases, the standard iPhone 17 will look a lot like the outgoing iPhone 16, keeping the familiar design that Apple users know and love. The Pro and Pro Max models, however, appear to be getting a more noticeable redesign on the rear camera module, suggesting a slightly bigger or restructured camera setup.
The iPhone 17 Air, which seems to be Apple’s more affordable or mid-range model, will come with a single rear camera housed in a pill-shaped module, a design that reminds some observers of Google’s Pixel phones. Like the Pro models, it will also feature the Action Button and Camera Control cutouts, hinting at some of the new functionalities Apple is bringing to the lineup.
Beyond the new iPhones, Apple is expected to roll out the stable versions of its next-generation software, including iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26, giving users a complete ecosystem upgrade alongside the new devices.
So, if you’re planning to upgrade or just love keeping tabs on Apple, September 9 is shaping up to be a big day. Between the subtle design tweaks, the new camera setups, and fresh software, there’s plenty to look forward to in the iPhone 17 lineup.
