Instagram has rolled out a new feature called Profile Cards. The feature has been designed to make it easier for users to share their profiles with others.
The feature works like like a digital business card, providing a snapshot of your Instagram profile.
The Profile Card is double-sided — one side has profile information such as your bio, profile picture, and any links or music tracks you've added. The other side features a scannable QR code that directs people directly to your Instagram account.
Users can also customise the background of their Profile Card with an image of their choice, allowing for a more personalised touch.
According to Meta, the parent company of Instagram, rather than sharing your username, you can now share a Profile Card, making it simpler to connect with new friends, professional contacts, or anyone who shares your interests.
Profile Cards: Availability
Meta said that the Profile Card feature is available to both regular and business users, enabling professionals to share their cards with brands and potential collaborators. The feature has been rolled out globally on October 15 but may take a while for it appear for all users. Moneycontrol checked for the feature on an iPhone and an Android phone but it wasn’t available as of now. However, it is a gradual rollout, so might take a few days for the feature to arrive.
How to create a Profile Card
The process is quite simple. All you need to do is head to Settings, where you will see a Profile Card option. Follow the on-screen prompts to customise the card as per your liking.
