Infinix’s next phone in India will literally smell like a breeze of fresh perfume

Infinix describes it as a mix of marine and lemon on top, followed by the floral freshness of lily of the valley, and then settles into warm notes of amber and vetiver. Fancy, right?

Yes, you read that right. Infinix’s next smartphone in India is not just about speed or camera megapixels—it’s about smelling good. The upcoming Infinix NOTE 50s 5G+ is all set to launch on April 18 in India, and it comes with a feature you probably never imagined in a phone—it’s scented.

Called “Energizing Scent-Tech,” this quirky new feature is debuting in the Marine Drift Blue variant of the phone. The back of this phone isn’t just stylish vegan leather—it actually releases perfume over time. Infinix has used something called Microencapsulation Technology, which basically means they’ve found a way to lock fragrance into the material and slowly let it out. It is more like wearing your favorite cologne… but in your pocket.

So what does it smell like? Infinix describes it as a mix of marine and lemon on top, followed by the floral freshness of lily of the valley, and then settles into warm notes of amber and vetiver. Fancy, right?

Of course, how long the scent lasts depends on how you use the phone and where you keep it. But still, imagine pulling out your phone and getting a gentle waft of perfume—it’s a total vibe shift from the usual metal-and-glass slabs we carry around.

Other than smelling great, the NOTE 50s 5G+ will also come with a 64MP Sony IMX682 camera sensor, and will be available in three colors—Marine Drift Blue (the scented one), Titanium Grey, and Ruby Red. The other two don’t come with perfume, but they’ll have sleek metallic finishes.

We’re not saying this phone will replace your fragrance collection—but hey, it might just make your bag, pocket, or hand smell a little fancier.
