Google Password Checkup

Google has a very useful feature called Password Checkup. Password Checkup is a free and user-friendly tool that simplifies identifying and addressing password vulnerabilities. With data breaches becoming more common, tools like these play a crucial role in protecting personal information and enhancing digital security.

This tool helps identify if any passwords linked to your Google Account have been exposed in data breaches, are weak, or are reused across multiple accounts. You can then take action by updating these passwords to better protect their accounts.

Here’s how to access Password Checkup across different platforms:

On Android Devices
  • Open Settings.
  • Search for Password Manager.
  • Tap Password Manager, then select Password Checkup.
In Google Chrome
  •  Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Passwords.
  • If the Passwords icon isn’t visible, click More (three dots), then go to Passwords and Autofill > Google Password Manager.
  • On the left-hand menu, select Checkup.
Through the Web
  • Visit passwords.google.com.
  • Click on Go to Password Checkup, then select Check passwords.
  • You may be prompted to sign in to your Google Account.
  • Additional tips for securing passwords

Google also offers ways to make password management seamless. You can turn on Chrome sync to automatically update passwords stored in your Google Account or sign in to Chrome and allow it to use saved passwords when prompted.
