Check Your Notification History (Android only)
If you saw the message before it was deleted, you might find it in your phone’s notification history. Go to Settings > Notifications > Notification History. If it was turned on, the message preview might still be there. This works only on some Android phones.

Use WhatsApp Backup to Restore Chats
WhatsApp backs up your chats daily (if you’ve enabled it). If a message was deleted after a backup, you can uninstall WhatsApp and reinstall it to restore that backup. This way, you might see the message before it got deleted — but you’ll lose newer messages.

Set Daily Chat Backups for the Future
To avoid missing deleted messages later, turn on daily backups. Go to WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Chat Backup. Choose daily backups. That way, you can restore recent chats if needed. It won’t help recover already deleted messages but can save future ones.

Ask the Sender
This may sound obvious, but sometimes the best way is to just ask the person what they sent. They might tell you — especially if it was a mistake or not meant to be deleted. Simple conversations can solve mysteries better than any app.

Avoid Third-Party Apps
Many apps claim to recover deleted messages, but they’re not safe. They often ask for too many permissions and could put your data at risk. WhatsApp doesn’t support these tools, so it’s best to stick to safe methods like backups or notification history.
