Honor has launched its latest book-style foldable, the Honor Magic V5, in China with a 7.95-inch 2K resolution foldable inner display and a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED cover screen. The brand claims it to be the thinnest foldable smartphone in the world, and offers up to a 6,100mAh battery with wired and wireless fast charging support. Honor Magic V5: Price, availability

The Honor Magic V5 is priced at CNY 8,999 (around Rs 1,07,500) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The other 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants are priced at CNY 9,999 (around Rs 1,19,500) and CNY 10,999 (around Rs 1,31,400), respectively. It will go on sale from July 4 in Chia through the Honor’s site in China, and is available in Dawn Gold, Silk Road Dunhuang, Velvet Black, and Warm White colour options.

Honor Magic V5: Specifications, features

The Honor Magic V5 comes with a 7.95-inch inner foldable LTPO 2K OLED display with up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, and a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED outer screen. Both screens come with up to 120Hz refresh support. The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of onboard storage.

In terms of optics, the Honor Magic V5 features a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide shooter, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, it offers two 20MP sensors, embedded in both displays. The 16GB + 1TB variant of the Honor Magic V5 packs a 6,100mAh battery, while the other models come with a 5,820mAh battery pack.

The device supports 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Additionally, the Magic V5 measures 8.8 mm when folded and weighs 217g. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP58 + IP59 certification, and stereo speakers.
