Honor is set to introduce its next flagship smartphone lineup, the Honor 8 series, in China on October 15. The lineup will include the Honor Magic 8 and Honor Magic 8 Pro, both succeeding last year’s Magic 7 smartphones. In the last few days, Honor has been teasing multiple details of the Magic 8 series. Moreover, a few leaks have given us an idea of the specifications of the lineup.
Honor Magic 8, Magic 8 Pro: Expected specifications, featuresHonor has already confirmed that the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro will be available in two new finishes: Golden Clouds at Dawn and Azure Glaze. Moreover, both handsets will run on the company’s latest software interface, Magic OS 10, which will be based on Android 16. This new software version is expected to refine UI transitions, with faster system animations, while providing Android 16’s new feature set.
Few leaks have suggested that both models in the Magic 8 lineup are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 1TB of onboard storage. Additionally, the Honor Magic 8 will likely sport a 6.58-inch 1.5K LTPO flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Magic 8 Pro may feature a 6.71-inch 120Hz 1.5K quad-curved screen.
For optics, the Honor Magic 8 will reportedly have a triple rear camera unit, including a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto shooter with 3X optical zoom. Meanwhile, the Honor Magic 8 Pro is confirmed to get a 200MP telephoto sensor. Battery capacities are another major highlight of the lineup, as the Magic 8 could pack a 7,000mAh unit with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging, while the Pro variant is tipped to be backed by a 7,200mAh battery supporting 120W fast charging.
