He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl has a confirmed release date. The 2D side-scrolling beat’ em up title will release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on April 28, 2026, developers Bitmap Bureau and Mattel announced. The upcoming He-Man game is published by Limited Run Games.
The story of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction starts with the discovery of a powerful ancient relic called the "Dragon Pearl of Destruction" by Skeletor.
The Dragon Pearl of Destruction holds “unspeakable power”, something which Skeletor plans to use to bring eternal darkness to Eternia. To succeed in his goals, he teams up with Evil-Lyn for a ritual. Only He-Man, Man-At-Arms and Teela have the combined might to stop Skeletor and save the planet.
In He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, you can play as He-Man, Man-At-Arms and Teela, and also get to unlock She-Ra as a playable character. Also, you get to control He-Man's powerful feline companion, Battle Cat, in fights against Skeletor’s minions. Play the Masters of the Universe adventure solo or in two-player local co-op mode with a friend.
According to the developers, Eternia in the game has been designed using “highly detailed pixel art” to bring back the original 1980s cartoon vibes.
The He-Man and the Masters of the Universe title features 12 game stages that cover the length and breadth of Eternia, “from the Royal Palace and the Vine Jungle to the dark corridors of Snake Mountain,” the developers added.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction features iconic villains such as Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man and Trap Jaw. The dark sorceress Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts will also make appearances to make things difficult for players.
